Paga Nagari: Journal of Islamic Philanthropy implements a rigorous and structured peer-review process to ensure the academic quality, originality, and scholarly contribution of each manuscript submitted for publication. The journal adopts a double-blind peer-review system in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation process.
The review process consists of the following stages:
1. Initial Screening : All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the Editor to assess: relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, conformity with the journal’s writing guidelines, academic writing standards and plagiarism level (checked using plagiarism detection software). Manuscripts that do not meet the criteria may be returned to authors for revision or rejected before peer review.
2. Double-Blind Peer-Review : Manuscripts that pass the screening stage are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript topic. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on: originality and scholarly contribution, methodological soundness, analytical rigor and argument clarity, validity of data and interpretation, relevance to the journal’s scholarly domain and clarity of presentation and writing quality.
Reviewers provide one of the following recommendations: accepted without revision, accepted with minor revisions, major revisions required, rejected.
3. Revision Process : Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments within the specified timeframe, and submit both the revised manuscript and a response to reviewers document.
4. Final Decision : The Editor or Editorial Board makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of revisions. Additional review may be requested if necessary.
5. Copyediting, Layout, and Proofreading : Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, language editing, formatting, and final typesetting (galley proof). Proofs are sent to the authors for final verification before publication.
6. Publication : After the final approval, manuscripts are published in the scheduled journal issue and made available online.
